Confirmed Expert Speakers
Pre-Event with Arup
Celebrate the work of environmental professionals, network with current and aspiring Chartered Environmentalists (CEnv) and Registered Environmental Technicians (REnvTech), meet representatives from our Constituent Bodies, learn from insightful expert lectures and discover how to register as a CEnv or REnvTech - all on World Environment Day 2018. A free event for current CEnvs and REnvTechs.
World Environment Day celebrates and promotes environmental awareness and sustainability across the globe – a United Nations initiative held annually on the 5th June. The Society for the Environment champions World Environment Day and what it stands for. It has highlighted important global issues since its beginning in 1974 including climate change, marine pollution and wildlife crime.
The global theme for 2018 is “Plastic Pollution” – a topic that has hit the headlines recently through high profile campaigns, TV series such as Blue Planet II and a strong focus within DEFRA’s 25 Year Environment Plan.
This is the second year the Society has showcased World Environment Day with an expert led event and a delegate list from across our 24 Licensed Professional Bodies that span a wide range of sectors.
New to the 2018 event is the inclusion of the Society’s annual presentation of the Environmental Professional of the Year Award – recognising the outstanding work of Chartered Environmentalists (CEnvs) and Registered Environmental Technicians (REnvTechs) – as well as the award of three new Honorary Fellows of the Society for the Environment (HonFSE). These awards will contribute to an evening of celebrating and showcasing the achievements of those striving to protect and enhance the environment on a daily basis.
Alongside the awards will be a series of HonFSE Lectures, providing expert insight into environmental issues and case studies. A fantastic learning opportunity for delegates, alongside the chance to network with leading experts during refreshment breaks.
For aspiring Chartered Environmentalists and Registered Environmental Technicians, this is the event for networking with current registrants and for discussing the registrations and application process with the Society for the Environment team at our dedicated CEnv / REnvTech information stand. Join us on the 5th June 2018!
