New Website

Hello,

If you're reading this, then you've found our new website! If you were familiar with our old website, then I hope you find this one much more user friendly and aesthetically pleasing.

We wanted to make it as simple as possible to access all the necessary information to become a Chartered Environmentalist or Registered Environmental Technician, as well as showcase our work and various activities that you too can be involved with, such as news pages, blog posts, industry insight and contributions to policy and debate.

We're currently undergoing a 'soft launch'. That is, we haven't activated all the features yet as we're still ironing out the kinks. So please, bear with us as we work to identify and correct these as they arise. If you do see an error, or there is a design flaw, or something doesn't work then please do not hesitate to  contact us and tell us. We really appreciate all feedback.

Before we go on to list the features that will be brought online between now and the end of November, we need to make a quick announcement.

Existing CEnvs & REnvTechs Attempting to Log On

If you're a current registered CEnv or REnvTech, your username and password are the same as the one we mailed out to you with your certificate.

If you have changed your password from the default, then unfortunately it won't work and you'll have to either dig out your old password or simply email Elaine Rutherford and ask for it to be sent again. Please make sure you include your username or CEnv/REnvTech number in the email so we can easily find you and get your password sent out as soon as possible.

CEnv & REnvTech Profiles

We didn't transfer everyone's profiles over. We promise you there is a very good reason for this, but it's too lengthy to get into here. So, unfortunately, you will have to write them up again and re-upload your photo. This does have the benefit of ensuring that your details are up to date.

We are currently implementing the registrant directory feature, formally known as CEnv-Direct, and this will be online very shortly.

Other New Features

  • Community Blogs, so users can post their own blog content and have it linked to their profile. Currently, this is for CEnv and REnvTech registrants to add to only. Blogs will be featured on our newsletters that we will send out to registered members (with your permission, of course). Please let us know if you're interested in writing engaging and relevant blog content.
  • Community Forums, so users can discuss topics and share knowledge.
  • Surveys, we will be asking regular questions on the site and to small focus groups. If you're interested in joining one of our Barometer's, again please  let Lee know.
  • Groups, we can create specific interest groups for users, which we can create forums for, share files with, create micro-sites for and generally be a community within a community.

This will all be rolled out by the end of the month. So please, keep checking back or keep an eye on your email and social media (@SocEnv_HQ or LinkedIn).

Thank you for your patience and we look forward to working with you,

SocEnv HQ
