CIWEMs’ Urban Drainage Group are hosting their Annual Autumn Conference and Exhibition 2017, on 8th – 10th November at Hilton Hotel in Blackpool.
The conference is aimed at presenting, exchanging and discussing the latest knowledge and research from within the Urban Drainage industry both globally and locally. The event attracts expert knowledge and leading representatives in the urban drainage field encompassing a wide range of associated organisations and individuals. Those involved span local, and regional councils, government organisations, international organisations, individuals, UK and international wastewater utilities, international and specialist civil engineering consultancies and modelling specialists, software engineers and developers, equipment manufacturers and more. In 2016 the event was attended by over 200 urban drainage professionals with over 20 exhibitors.
The 2017 event will focus on the Digital Revolution and the role of technology in the management of urban wastewater networks and papers with this theme are included in all sessions. The morning of the first day has been given over to Water UK’s 21st Century Drainage Programme and includes a keynote speech and full technical sessions on Capacity Management and CSO’s.
The year’s Research Forum on the Wednesday afternoon kicks off a programme spanning 3 days of forums, debate, presentations and current topical workshops. There is opportunity for learning, to get involved and discuss ongoing research results supported by various representatives. The fully inclusive programme is supported by an industry sponsored trade show exhibition, providing for ample networking opportunities and showcasing industry relevant companies and organisations, while the conference dinner allows you to catch up with colleagues old and new.
