Society for the Environment CEO, Dr Emma Wilcox, Joins the Executive Committee of the European Network of Environmental Professionals (ENEP)
During the latest European Network of Environmental Professionals (ENEP) General Assembly in Cardiff, the Society for the Environment CEO, Dr Emma Wilcox, was formally elected onto the Executive Committee.
The Society is an active member of ENEP, representing Chartered Environmentalists and Registered Environmental Technicians on the European stage. ENEP consists of 22 European environmental organisations that together represent over 45,000 individual professionals. It seeks to influence and implement the environmental agenda throughout Europe, connect European environmental experts and promote international recognition of environmental qualifications.
Over recent years the Society has added a voice for registered environmental professionals in Europe and worked to positively maintain European connections. Plus, the Society’s membership with ENEP gives environmental professionals a number of benefits, such as networking with European counterparts, the opportunity to initiate and contribute towards collaborative projects and access to an online directory of European environmental professionals.
Following the confirmation of her election, Dr Emma Wilcox commented; “I am delighted to be appointed onto the ENEP Executive Committee. I look forward to working closely with the Executive Committee to continue to provide our registrants a forum for collaboration across Europe.”

The ENEP General Assembly was organised by the Society and hosted in Cardiff by Natural Resources Wales. Alongside the General Assembly, a side event to showcase the flood risk management work by the University of Cardiff was available on the day prior. This provided a networking and knowledge sharing opportunity for the environmental professionals and teams from member organisations in attendance.
